The cicada is the animal that best represents summer. From ancient times to the present, the sound of cicadas has been with us for thousands of years. On the morning of July 18th, the Lianyungang Museum launched the "Looking for the Summer·The Summer Worms Can’t Be Speaking" activity, leading young people to hand-made "sounding cicadas" in the deep shadows of the hot summer, listening to the cicadas hissing, and admiring the museum. The coolness of the cicada!

At the beginning of the activity, the children held the learning task list and walked to the progress hall to find the cultural relics of the Han Dynasty "green jade cicada". In an environment full of cultural atmosphere, through the encouragement, inspiration and guidance of the guide, and close contact with the cultural relics, Everyone knows that cicadas are mysterious and holy in the minds of the ancients. They have the habit of living high in trees, eating and drinking dew, and screaming endlessly. The "green jade cicada" is a manifestation of the ancients' respect for life. Take the cicada as a symbol of resurrection, hoping for the reincarnation of life.

The accumulation of knowledge will eventually need to be tested by labor and practice. Under the insidious teaching of the art teacher, the children began to make "voicing cicadas". The kraft paper was tightened on the bamboo tube with a small hole in the center, and then the knotted nylon rope was passed through. Then, tie it to a resin wooden stick and attach the eyes and wings to the cicada. A cool bamboo cicada is ready! When it is swung and rotated, it is like the cool sound of a cicada singing on a tree, which is very interesting. After the cicadas were made, the children took out cardboard, cut out the shape of the tree and glued them together, decorated with leaves, and the cute "voicing cicadas" also had their own customized nests, and everyone showed sincere smiles.

Summer insects can't talk about ice, but they can talk about summer. From the perspective of the cicada, through lively and interesting interactions, this event led young people to discover the charm of historical relics, effectively practice the core socialist values, and give full play to the museum's social education and cultural communication functions.
