Lianyungang Museum was established on May 8, 1973, with a collection of more than 10,000 cultural relics. It is a comprehensive local museum that systematically displays the long history and culture of Lianyungang area. Its predecessor was the Haizhou Geography and Cultural Relics Showroom established in 1958. In 2008, it was listed as the first national Second-class museum by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
Lianyungang Museum, located opposite the administrative center of lianyungang city, was completed and opened to the public on July 28, 2006.
