The Municipal People's Government (Lian Zhengfa [1990] No. 79) named the Yanhan Art Gallery as the Yanhan Art Gallery.

Construction of Yanhan's Works Exhibition Hall started.

Approved by the Municipal Planning Economic Commission (Lian Ji Jingji [1988] No. 433), a new exhibition hall of Yanhan's works was built in the Municipal Museum.

The Municipal Cultural Management Committee was formally separated from the Municipal Museum.

The new hall is officially opened to the public.

The Municipal Museum at No. 35 Cangwu Road, Xinpu District, was completed. The building covers an area of 47 acres, with a construction area of 3800 square meters.

Hu Yaobang, then the general secretary, inscribed the name of the Lianyungang Museum.

The archaeological group, the storage group, and the administrative group were renamed the archaeological department, the storage department, and the office, and the exhibition department was newly added.
